Our Story

As you are well aware, the last years have been rough, and along with the palpable political tension rising, Angela Johnson wanted to crete something that could bring community together. As the anniversary of 9/11 approached, Twin Falls had no note worthy memorial event to speak of and she felt a desire to change that. She started the ball rolling and put together an awesome first event. Out of her own pocket, she purchased over 100 flags and invited friends, neighbors, and community members.

Her simple vision was to have a family event where all could stand on the Perrine Bridge and wave their flags in remembrance of 9/11 and join together in a display of patriotism and support of our great nation. She personally contacted local police and fire agencies and asked them to be present, which they obliged. Someone was brought in to sing the national anthem as a flag carried by two firefighters was unfurled hanging off the center of the bridge. Spectators were incredibly moved and overjoyed at the response that they received as they stood there waving flags, the feeling was heartwarming, to say the least. All who participated left with a renewed sense of country and community.

So at the beginning 2020, Angela Johnson along with Larae Saufley began to plan the event again and expressed a desire to make it an annual event!

Over the past several years, this event has grown beyond anything we ever thought possible, we have involved our local National Guard office who has eagerly accepted an invitation to set up a static display for the community and have been working other amazing first responders and militray groups for patriotic static displays. We have partnered with Twin Falls City Mayor, Manager, and chiefs of police and fire as they have been instrumental an supportive of this event from the beginning.

We are exited for more community involvement! This is why we are here to build and strengthen each other as we come together as citizens of this great country to unite Idaho.
